Welcome, Everyone!

Please call me "Dr. Dan".

We specialize in Neuro-optometry. Neuro-optometry is the branch of medicine that combines what we know about vision and the brain. We research and develop affordable ways for people to experience a Quality of Life that's otherwise not possible.

We will search for answers about effective and chemical-free treatments for:

1. Visually related learning & reading disorders

2. Vision loss (Macular Degeneration and Retinitis Pigmentosa)

3. Low Vision (Stargardt's Disease, Retinopathy of Prematurity, Optic Atrophy)

4. Traumatic Brain Injury (Concussion and Stroke with Hemianopia)

Please call me with questions or to schedule a consultation.

In A Nutshell...

As innovators, we treat patients but also devote time to researching, developing, testing, and bringing to market products, systems, and services to achieve success in those approaches. We are experts in ocular motor disorders, Autism, developmental delays, vision rehabilitation, and visually-related learning disorders. We are Neuro-optometric professionals dedicated to advancing science.

As advocates, we realize vision is critical to a holistic approach in treating Stroke, Traumatic Brain Injury, post-concussion syndrome, and other neurological conditions. We are particularly ready to serve our returning "Wounded Warriors" with visual confusion complicating their Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. We provide tools to manage the changing visual and motor complications of other acquired neurological conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson’s Disease. We provide treatments for individuals having life-saving surgery, Brain Tumors, and Arteriole-Venous Malformation AVM. We plan not only to sustain this mission during our lifetime but, by teaching and mentoring other professionals of many related disciplines including Neuro-optometry, and Neuro-ophthalmology, to extend it beyond our lifetimes. When you’ve been told that there is nothing to be done for your condition, call on Dr. Dan’s leadership.

And the Basics Behind What We Do In Vision Therapy and Rehabilitation…

Vision rehabilitation does not focus on physical defects of the eye, but problems with the communication between the eyes and the brain. To understand vision rehabilitation, one needs to understand the difference between sight and vision. Sight is the ability to see and the measure of that is sometimes clear and sometimes not. Vision is the ability to understand what we see. Vision is learning.

Both children and adults can have vision disorders that go undetected during routine eye exams. For example, a child may have excellent sight but have difficulty reading because his or her eyes do not work together correctly.

Visual problems such as tracking disorders, convergence disorders, and spatial confusion can cause a variety of issues ranging from learning difficulties to panic attacks. These disorders can occur by themselves or as a result of a hereditary condition, brain injury, or stroke. When they are from a brain or spinal cord injury, they require vision rehabilitation.
